Adventure in the Lechtal

Trails children will still talk about later

Sometimes the experience begins long before the actual destination. A dark rock tunnel, a swaying suspension bridge or the wild Lech can turn an outing into a lasting memory.

Through the rock tunnels to the Sulzlalm

Here, the trail itself is already a little adventure.

From Stockach, the trail leads through impressive rock tunnels towards the Sulzlalm. Especially with children, these dark passages are often remembered longer than many classic hiking destinations.

Afterwards the mountain landscape opens up, and the tunnel adventure turns into a relaxed day at the alpine pasture.

Holzgau

Cross the suspension bridge – and then simply keep going.

The suspension bridge combines beautifully with the Höhenbachtal. If you feel like continuing, walk on towards Café Uta and the Rossgumpenalm. A short outing can spontaneously turn into a full day.

Water. Movement. Adventure.

Experience the Lech from a different perspective

Rafting reveals the wild side of the Lech.

If you want more than hiking on holiday, experience the wild river from a raft. It is a completely different view of the landscape – wet, lively and definitely not boring.

For sporty guests, the via ferrata at the Simms waterfall is another special experience around Holzgau.

Beyond the suspension bridge, it becomes wonderfully quiet again.

Beyond Holzgau

Höhenbachtal, Café Uta & Rossgumpenalm

The suspension bridge does not have to be the end of the outing.

Beyond Holzgau, the trail leads into a quieter side valley. Depending on your mood and fitness, you can walk just a little farther, stop at Café Uta or continue all the way to the Rossgumpenalm.

These are exactly the kind of outings we like: you can decide as you go.

Close to home

Sometimes an outing does not need a car at all

Set off gently from Bach, stop for refreshments and return without needing a big day plan.

Jausestation Wase is exactly this kind of destination. Ideal for a relaxed day when the stop for food can matter more than the metres climbed.

And quite honestly, for us a proper day in the mountains also includes Kaiserschmarren or a good mountain snack.

Sometimes the refreshment stop is the real destination.

Enjoyment is part of it

A hike is allowed to taste like Kaiserschmarren

Not every outing needs a summit.

Sometimes a beautiful alpine pasture, a place in the sun and something good on the table are more than enough. That is why food and enjoyment belong on our list just as much as panoramas and elevation gain.

Valley station of the Jöchelspitzbahn in Bach in summer

A genuine SennHOF advantage

Comfortably into the mountains with the Jöchelspitzbahn.

For our summer guests, the mountain lift ride is included with the Lechtal Aktiv Card. At the top, decide for yourself: enjoy the views, walk to the hay museum and Lachenkopf, or turn it into a full mountain day.

From an easy outing to a full mountain day

One starting point. Three possibilities.

The Jöchelspitzbahn makes it especially easy to adapt the day to your mood and fitness.

Panoramaweg & Bernhardseck

For guests who want a little more mountain today.

The Jöchelspitzbahn lets you gain altitude comfortably. From there, plan a panoramic circuit towards the Bernhardseckhütte and return to the top station via the Alpenrosensteig.

A tour worth taking your time over – for the views, a refreshment stop and all those places where you simply stop and look.

More mountain days

Set off directly or drive a short way through the Lechtal

Some of our favourite destinations do not yet have their own photo, but they definitely deserve a place on this page.

Kasermandl & Geierwally circular trailFrom Elbigenalp to Kasermandl, then back via the Geierwally circular trail and Gibler Alm.
Gibler AlmEspecially lovely with children – the alpine pasture has a large playground.

Stablalm near Elmen in the Lechtal mountain landscape

A classic alpine pasture day

Up to the Stablalm.

The Stablalm near Elmen is one of those destinations where the setting alone makes you want to set off: green slopes, mountain scenery and a place to eat at the top that is well worth the extra steps.

And what shall we do tomorrow?

Best not to decide just yet.

At SennHOF you do not need to plan every day in advance. Arrive, check the weather, see how you feel – and we will gladly tell you which of our favourite places suits the day best.
